This past weekend, Senate Republican Leader Anthony M. Bucco was recognized at Bonnie Brae’s 39th Annual Tartan Ball with the Red Bandanna Award for his efforts in advocating for youth mental health.
“I am extremely grateful to receive the Bonnie Brae Red Bandanna Award,” said Sen. Bucco. “Bonnie Brae is truly an exceptional organization that goes above and beyond to ensure young New Jerseyans become the best version of themselves and it has been my honor to support their mission of helping troubled youth from crisis to success. Here’s to the continued Small Victories, Every Day!”
Paul D. Rieger, CEO of Bonnie Brae, remarked on Bucco's dedication: “Senator Anthony Bucco truly embodies the spirit of the Red Bandanna Award, created in memory of Remy Welles Crowther. His decades-long advocacy and unwavering support for youth facing mental health and substance abuse challenges—like those served by Bonnie Brae for more than 100 years—led us to honor him at this year’s Tartan Ball. Thanks to his support and the generosity of our donors, we continue to empower our young people to thrive every day. Congratulations to Senator Anthony Bucco!”
Bonnie Brae serves as a residential school and safe haven for boys, girls, young men, and women aged 12-21 who are in crisis. The organization offers comprehensive care for historically underserved youth and families across New Jersey. It has positively impacted over 13,000 youths and their families by guiding them from crisis towards success.
