Senator Michael Testa, representing New Jersey's 1st District, expressed strong criticism at the 2024 Energy Master Plan Stakeholder Meeting. He targeted Democrats and the Board of Public Utilities (BPU) for endorsing policies that he claims have increased energy costs for residents.

"The Energy 'Disaster' Plan is a blueprint for higher costs, inefficiency, and a lower quality of life in the Garden State," stated Senator Testa. He further argued, "Rather than update the Energy Master Plan, it should be scrapped in its entirety. While I support the mission of championing a cleaner environment, we cannot and should not sacrifice affordability in the process—we have a duty to the ratepayers in the State of New Jersey."

Senator Testa's full testimony is available online for those interested.
