Senate Republican Leader Anthony M. Bucco has expressed his support for the agreement reached between the Borough of Madison and Drew University to preserve Drew Forest. In a statement, he praised the collective efforts of various stakeholders in protecting this open space.

“I commend the dedication of federal, state, and local stakeholders who share a deep commitment to protecting our invaluable open space and working tirelessly to make this deal happen,” said Sen. Bucco.

Bucco highlighted the collaboration with Senator McKeon and other elected officials from both parties in securing essential funding from the state. He emphasized that these efforts will ensure that "the natural beauty and ecological significance of Drew Forest will be safeguarded for future generations."

To facilitate this preservation, Senator Bucco led a bipartisan delegation to Trenton, where they secured $9 million in state funding aimed at helping local stakeholders purchase and protect Drew Forest from potential development.
