On Thursday, the Camden County Board of Commissioners organized the Alzheimer's Caregiver Symposium. The event was held in collaboration with the Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Chapter, Rowan-Virtua New Jersey Institute for Successful Aging, and Senior Citizens United Community Services, Inc.

The symposium addressed various subjects including caregiving fundamentals, stress management, caregiver advocacy, and the advantages of respite care. Commissioner Melinda Kane commented on the challenges faced by caregivers: “Stepping into a caregiving position for someone suffering with Alzheimer’s can feel incredibly overwhelming and isolating,” she said. “But through community events such as the Caregiver’s Symposium, it is our hope to offer some guidance and support to caregivers across Camden County and the region.”
