The passage of the Speak Out Act will be the second #MeToo-related legislation to become law this year; this important piece of the bill marks an essential step towards a world where no survivor is ever silenced with non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) — giving survivors the right to tell their sexual assault and harassment publicly. Silencing victims only perpetuates sexual violence and harassment. The bravery of survivors has sent a message to Lawmakers against this practice. We all deserve safety, dignity, and equal opportunity at work; this legislation is a new path to justice and accountability.
