South Jersey Gas will conduct roadwork on East Atlantic Avenue in Stratford on Tuesday, October 8, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. This work will necessitate the complete closure of the road at its intersection with Vassar Avenue.

Commissioner Al Dyer, who is the liaison to the Department of Public Works, advised motorists to plan ahead for alternate routes and allow extra travel time. "Motorists should plan ahead to take alternate routes and give themselves plenty of time to get to their destinations," he stated. He also urged caution in construction zones: "Also, remember that when you’re traveling through a construction area, please slow down and stay alert for crew members and debris."

The Camden County Department of Public Works oversees over 1,200 miles of county roads along with numerous bridges and dams. Their mission is to enhance safety for both drivers and pedestrians through various projects such as highway construction and regular maintenance tasks like pothole repairs and storm drainage upkeep. The department operates out of Lindenwold with personnel available around the clock every day.

Residents can report any issues on Camden County roads by calling (856) 566-2980 or visiting www.camdencounty.com.
