On Thursday, the Board of Commissioners and the Health Department organized the Camden County Local Boards of Health Summit. This event brought together municipal governments and local health boards from across New Jersey to discuss public health strategies aimed at improving community outcomes.

The summit included presentations on various topics such as enhancing youth mental health, advancing food safety practices, and controlling lead hazards.

"Each year, this summit provides the opportunity for health departments across the county to come together and discuss how we can all improve our approach to public health," stated Commissioner Virginia Betteridge, who is the liaison to the Camden County Department of Health. "During the event, attendees heard from several speakers who will cover important issues our municipalities are currently facing in the sphere of public health and how we can come up with solutions to create healthier communities in Camden County."
