The Camden County Recovery Community convened at the Camden County Boathouse on October 2nd for an Appreciation Banquet. The event celebrated participants in the R.E.A.L. Sports programs, focusing on their strength and resilience. Approximately 100 attendees from various sober living houses were present, creating a supportive atmosphere that highlighted the bonds formed through shared experiences.

Notable attendees included Commissioner Director Cappelli, Commissioner Betteridge, members of the Camden County Addiction Awareness Task Force, and volunteer Dominic Vesper Sr. Each participant received a sweatshirt and a certificate to acknowledge their commitment to recovery, accompanied by a meal that fostered connection.

Dominic Vesper Sr. was specially recognized for his volunteer work in the Bocce program. He has played a significant role as a mentor and grandfather figure, providing support and guidance to many within the community.

The event underscored collective strength and encouragement, emphasizing the significance of uplifting one another. The success of the R.E.A.L. Sports program was acknowledged for its impact on the local recovery community, with appreciation extended to event coordinators.

The gathering also served as a platform to share information about future initiatives such as community garden projects, Battleship NJ tours, and sports activities. These efforts aim to foster growth and connection within the recovery community.

This banquet was more than just a celebration; it demonstrated the importance of community support in recovery journeys.
