Senator Carmen Amato, Jr., Assemblyman Brian E. Rumpf, and Assemblyman Gregory E. Myhre have addressed a letter to President Biden expressing their concerns about potential funding cuts to the Meals on Wheels program.

"To prevent senior citizens from falling to desperate situations, all efforts must be taken to prevent any funding cuts to a program which has a proven track record of providing nutritious meals to those in need," the delegation stated in their letter.

The letter emphasizes the importance of the Meals on Wheels program for thousands of senior citizens in New Jersey who rely on its services. The legislators highlighted that any funding cuts could lead to waiting lists, describing this possibility as "alarming and wholly un-American," especially given the nation's resources and foreign aid expenditures.

The full text of the letter is available for public viewing.

In conclusion, the legislators urged President Biden to consider their serious concerns regarding the impact of potential funding cuts on their constituents.

Sincerely,

Carmen Amato, Jr.

Brian E. Rumpf

Gregory E. Myhre
