Later this summer, a $1 million roadway improvement project will commence on Atco Avenue in Waterford and Winslow Townships. This infrastructure investment includes enhancements to concrete curbs and stormwater drainage along with roadway repaving.
“During construction season our public works crews and engineering department have millions of dollars of work taking place and I’m proud to announce the reconstruction of Atco Avenue,” said Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Department of Public Works. “This stretch of roadway was in need of upgrading and when the project is finished, safety and efficiency for our motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists will be significantly improved.”
During work hours, Atco Avenue will be closed from the White Horse Pike to Hayes Mill Road. A traffic control plan will be established between local and county officials prior to the start of construction.
The Camden County Department of Public Works is responsible for maintaining over 1,200 miles of county roadway and 50 bridges. They are dedicated to making the area safer for motorists and pedestrians through county highway construction projects and road maintenance, including pothole repairs, street sweeping, grass cutting, and storm drainage upkeep. The Public Works Department is located in Lindenwold where personnel are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week to serve the residents of Camden County.
