Senator Kristin Corrado (R-40) has expressed strong criticism towards Governor Murphy's handling of the pandemic in New Jersey, particularly in relation to the State's Veterans nursing homes. In a statement released regarding the results of the Independent Review of New Jersey's pandemic response, Sen. Corrado stated, "Governor Murphy spent $9 million on a report that told us what we already knew – he failed to protect those who were willing to give their lives to protect our country. The Murphy Administration's incompetency caused deaths in our State's Veterans nursing homes, deaths which the leadership of these homes tried to cover up. Governor Murphy ignored countless calls to help these veterans and instead of spending millions on yet another report showing the Murphy administration’s failures during the pandemic, he should get to work making sure this never happens again."
The Senator's remarks highlight a call for accountability and action to prevent similar failures in the future. Sen. Corrado emphasized the need for Governor Murphy to address the issues raised in the report and take concrete steps to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable populations in the state.
