TRENTON – Governor Phil Murphy today signed Executive Order No. 329, ordering U.S. and New Jersey flags to fly at half-staff on Friday, May 12, 2023 to honor the life of Deptford Township Police Officer Robert “Bobby” Shisler, who suffered a gunshot wound while in the line of duty on March 10, 2023. Officer Shisler fought valiantly for two months until succumbing to complications from his injuries on May 7, 2023.

“Officer Bobby Shisler was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, and Spartan community member whose memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, fellow members of the Deptford Township Police Department, and all law enforcement officers,” said Governor Murphy. “Officer Shisler lived a life of service and sacrifice, seeking to keep our communities safe. It is with deep sadness that we mourn the loss of Officer Shisler, and extend our sincere sympathy to his family, friends, and colleagues.”
