The New Jersey Department of Agriculture has established drop-off locations and dates for the New Jersey Pesticide Container and Recycling Program. This initiative is available to agricultural, professional, and commercial pesticide applicators possessing a New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) pesticide license, as well as state, county, and municipal government agencies.

There are currently three operational sites in the state. These locations will be open for container drop-offs from 9 a.m. to noon. Those delivering properly cleaned and processed (triple rinsed) containers will be granted one Core credit toward their NJ DEP Pesticide Applicators License.

The three designated sites are at Helena Chemical in Hammonton in Atlantic County, Helena Chemical in Woodstown in Salem County, and the Rutgers Fruit and Ornamental Research Center in Monmouth County. The schedule for drop-off dates is as follows:

- Hammonton: April 11, May 16, June 13, July 11

- Woodstown: April 18, May 23, June 20, July 18

- Monmouth County: April 25, May 30, June 27, July 25

It is expected that additional locations in the northern region will be available in 2026.

On each site, a representative from the New Jersey Department of Agriculture will inspect the containers and issue one Core credit to holders of a pesticide license. However, participants who do not provide a license and do not comply with all pesticide container processing requirements will not receive the Core credit.

The department has provided a complete list of processing steps and additional program information at https://bit.ly/3FJQj6k.

Additionally, the Department requests that notifications of drop-off times and dates, as well as any inquiries, be directed to Rachel DeFlumeri at rachel.deflumeri@ag.nj.gov.
