Senator Kristin Corrado's bill aimed at improving the handling of juvenile delinquency cases has passed the New Jersey Senate. The legislation mandates that juveniles accused of delinquency must appear before a court in the county where the alleged offense took place.
"Our justice system should be most convenient for the victims of crimes, not the offenders," stated Sen. Corrado. "Unfortunately, as the law is currently written in regards to juvenile delinquency cases, that convenience is often granted to the offender. This bill will right that wrong and mandate that the court that hears the case will be in the county where the offense was committed."
