Eileen Kean serves as the State Director for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) in New Jersey. With a wealth of experience in government relations and business, Kean is a partner at Komjathy & Kean, LLC, bringing decades of lobbying expertise from both Trenton and Washington, D.C.

Her career began after earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Education from Rutgers College, New Jersey. She initially worked as an American History teacher at Shore Regional High School while attending Seton Hall School of Law in Newark. After obtaining her law degree and being admitted to the New Jersey Bar, she joined Thomas Kean Associates to specialize in government affairs.

Kean has held several prominent positions throughout her career. She was CEO of the Independent Insurance Agents of New Jersey and served as past president of the Deal School Board of Education. Her move to Washington, D.C., saw her working with the insurance industry and representing clients across various sectors including pharmaceuticals, labor, and non-profit organizations.

She maintains strong connections with the New Jersey Congressional Delegation and has previously served as Federal Director of Government Affairs for the University of Phoenix before returning to her home state. Prior roles also include Director of Government Affairs for the Medical Society of New Jersey.

Governor Christie appointed Kean as a Commissioner on the Monmouth County Board of Elections, a position she continues under Governor Murphy's reappointment. She actively volunteers with several non-profits in Monmouth County such as the Museum of the Church of Seven United States Presidents in Long Branch. Additionally, Governor Murphy appointed her to serve on the NJ State Board of Pharmacy.

In addition to her duties with NFIB, she is a trustee for the Drumthwacket Foundation—the historic residence for all NJ Governors—and participates in national organizations like Governors Associations and the National Conference of State Legislators.
