Congressman Donald Norcross shared reflections on the progress made in 2024 and his priorities moving forward. Representing Camden County, Norcross emphasized his commitment to affordability for seniors and families, highlighting legislation that caps insulin costs at $35 for Medicare recipients and allows Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices. Starting January 2025, ten drugs will be released under this law, potentially saving seniors up to 80% on medications. Out-of-pocket expenses for Medicare Part D will also be capped at $2,000 annually.

Norcross has focused on securing federal funding for his district, easing local tax burdens while supporting essential projects. These include allocations of $4.5 million for wastewater management, $2.5 million for local police, $1.6 million for road safety upgrades, and $5 million for community spaces in South Jersey. In transportation, he secured over $300 million in funding.

As an advocate for good-paying jobs, Norcross championed the 'Buy America' law signed by President Biden. He also worked on extending affordable childcare programs and introduced the Warehouse Worker Protection Act to safeguard workers from unsafe quotas.

In education and connectivity, Norcross supported discounted internet services through the Affordable Connectivity Program and passed the Pell Grant Preservation and Expansion Act to make college more affordable.

On national security, he secured a 14.5% pay raise for junior enlisted service members and funded defense-related research with a $2.5 million investment at Rowan University.

Addressing the opioid epidemic remains a priority as well. Norcross introduced legislation enabling doctors to prescribe methadone to individuals with opioid use disorder and secured $1.6 million in federal grants for Camden County.

Looking ahead to the new year and Congress session, Norcross reaffirmed his dedication to fighting for good jobs, quality education, healthcare access, and national security.
