Today, a bill proposed by Senator Jim Holzapfel and Senator Patrick Diegnan to create a special license plate marking the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution passed through committee.

Senator Holzapfel remarked on New Jersey's historical importance during the revolution, stating, "New Jersey played a pivotal role in the American Revolution, serving as a key battleground for many important conflicts." He emphasized that the license plate serves to honor the state's contributions and sacrifices made by its residents. He also expressed gratitude towards Senator Diegnan for his collaboration.

Senator Diegnan highlighted the dual purpose of the initiative: "I commend Senator Holzapfel for celebrating our state’s rich history and New Jersey’s critical role in our nation’s independence," he said. The proceeds from these commemorative plates will aid in preserving Revolutionary War sites across New Jersey, ensuring that significant locations where decisive battles took place are maintained.

The upcoming celebration in July 2025 marks a significant milestone in American history, with New Jersey having been central to numerous military engagements during the revolutionary period.
