Senator Holly Schepisi of New Jersey's 39th district was awarded the "Outstanding Legislator Award" by the Food Council Committee for Good Government. The accolade was presented during the 50th Annual Good Government Breakfast on October 1, 2024, in Monroe Township, NJ.

The award is given annually to legislators who significantly contribute to New Jersey and support the food retail and distribution sector. Upon receiving the honor, Schepisi expressed her gratitude: “I am deeply honored to receive this recognition from the Food Council Committee for Good Government.” She emphasized the industry's importance, noting it serves nearly 10 million residents daily and represents a $136 billion economic force in New Jersey.

Schepisi has maintained a strong relationship with the organization, advocating for pro-growth policies and reduced regulatory burdens for New Jersey employers. Her collaboration with the committee extends to addressing challenges such as Organized Retail Crime (ORC).

“I am proud to have sponsored bipartisan legislation to help combat the rising threat of Organized Retail Crime in New Jersey that costs businesses billions, raises costs for consumers, and endangers the safety of retail workers who are increasingly subjected to violence,” Schepisi stated. Her proposed bill, S-3587, aims to protect consumers and workers while fostering cooperation between retailers and law enforcement against organized theft activities.
