A member of the Italian American Civil Rights League said Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who was recently named by Vice President Kamala Harris as her running mate for the upcoming presidential election, is "an enemy of the Italian American Community."

"Tim Walz is an enemy of the Italian American Community," Italian American Civil Rights League (IACRL) Board Member Mike Crispi said in a post on X. "He has a long history of being in favor of erasing our culture. He strongly has supported the removal of Christopher Columbus statues. We will call it for what it is: racism."

"The IACRL demands he drops out," he wrote.

A release from the IACRL detailed how Walz allowed “roving mobs of left-wing criminals to destroy the State statue of Christopher Columbus” during the mob riots in Minneapolis that spanned multiple weeks after the death of George Floyd.

“In order to placate indigenous activists and other anti-Italian-American sympathizers, Walz and his cronies colluded to keep the state down,” Crispi said. “They hate the Western tradition that made American great and they will do anything to undermine it and destroy our country from within.”

Presidential Nominee and current Vice President Kamala Harris named Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate on August 6.

Walz has been the governor of Minnesota since 2018, having won his re-election campaign in 2022. He served in the Army National Guard before being elected in 2006 to serve in the United States House of Representatives for Minnesota’s First Congressional District in Southern Minnesota.

Walz was the governor of Minnesota during COVID-19 lockdowns and during the Black Lives Matter riots. Minneapolis experienced the majority of the destruction during these riots; stores were ransacked, streets trashed, and a police station burned to the ground; with little to no repercussions for the protestors.

During the lockdowns Walz set up an anonymous reporting system to allow people to snitch on their neighbors if they saw them breaking the mandated lockdown.

"Tim Walz did nothing to stop radical vandals from targeting the most prominent symbol of Italian-American culture in a flagrant hate crime. He knew they were coming and he did nothing to protect the statute," Crispi wrote. "Walz allowed the North Star State to become an exemplar of cultural Marxism run amok."

Mike Crispi is the host of 'Mike Crispi Unafraid' podcast and the weekly roundtable program 'Last Call with Mike Crispi.' He was chosen as a Statewide New Jersey Delegate to the Republican National Convention by the 2024 Trump Campaign. He previously ran for U.S. Congress in New Jersey's 4th Congressional District. Crispi is the founder of the Italian American Civil Rights League, a conservative advocacy group that promotes and preserves the culture of Italian Americans.
