A bipartisan joint resolution sponsored by Senator Kristin Corrado (R-40) that would declare New Jersey as a Purple Heart State was unanimously approved by the Senate this afternoon.

"We owe a debt of gratitude to the brave men and women of New Jersey who have made selfless sacrifice in pursuit of defending our freedoms. Today's Senate vote demonstrates our unwavering admiration and support for service members who received the Purple Heart Medal," said Sen. Corrado. "This symbolic declaration builds upon New Jersey's commitment to pay tribute to Veterans and active military members by recognizing their valor and honoring their enduring legacy."

The resolution, SJR-103, would honor the contributions and sacrifices of New Jersey service members who have received the Purple Heart Medal. New Jersey would be the fourth state in the country to make this declaration if signed into law.
