Senate Republican leader Anthony M. Bucco criticized Governor Murphy's handling of the ANCHOR Property Tax Relief payments, stating that they were designed to be political. Bucco expressed his concerns about the timing of the payments and emphasized the need for a permanent solution to New Jersey's property tax issues.

Bucco stated, "I fully support making New Jersey more affordable for homeowners, but the timing of the ANCHOR relief payments from the Murphy administration is nothing more than a gimmick." He further added, "Republicans offered a comprehensive long-term solution...that would have provided a real solution for lasting property tax relief to New Jersey. Democrats rejected our proposal."

The first round of ANCHOR Property Tax Relief Payments was announced by the Murphy administration, with New Jerseyans set to receive them by November 1st. Bucco criticized the timing of the payments, claiming that they could have been delivered earlier in the year. He highlighted the need for permanent solutions to address the state's high property taxes.

In conclusion, Bucco reiterated, "Homeowners deserve more than temporary tax relief offered at the whim of the Governor, they need permanent solutions to New Jersey's property tax system that helps lower New Jersey's ever rising cost of living."
