Senate Republican Leader Anthony Bucco criticized Senate Democrats for their inaction on education issues in New Jersey, highlighting the lack of progress for 231 days. Bucco emphasized the importance of parental rights and expressed concern over the interference of the Murphy administration in education matters.

"Parents are rightfully concerned that the Murphy administration is interfering with their ability to have an active role in their children's education," said Bucco (R-25). He pointed out the lawsuits filed by the Attorney General's Office against school districts, which he sees as unnecessary government intrusion preventing parents from being informed about crucial information regarding their children.

Bucco urged Senate Democrats to collaborate with Republicans to find bipartisan solutions that prioritize the interests of parents, teachers, and school districts. He emphasized the significance of parental involvement in education, stating, "children succeed best when parents and teachers are partners."

The Senate Education Committee's last public hearing on education matters took place on March 2, 2023, reflecting the prolonged period without substantial action in the Senate regarding education issues.
