Senator Jon Bramnick is set to be recognized with the Community Advocate Award at the upcoming Good Grief Gala on Wednesday, October 25 in Florham Park. Bramnick, a prominent figure representing Legislative District 21, will be acknowledged alongside other distinguished individuals from both the public and private sectors for his dedication to incorporating grief support and resources into New Jersey's public education system.
Expressing his gratitude, Senator Bramnick stated, "I am extremely honored and grateful to Good Grief for this incredible award." He emphasized the importance of addressing grief, particularly among adolescents, acknowledging that "Grief is one of the hardest emotions to understand and manage as an adolescent." Bramnick reiterated his commitment to advancing legislation that aims to equip schools with the necessary tools to assist students in navigating the complexities of grief, stating, "I will continue efforts to get my legislation to the Governor's Desk because it is imperative to give our schools the tools they need that will help our students learn how to effectively manage the physical, emotional, and behavioral impacts of grief."
The bill championed by Senator Bramnick, known as S-3330, received unanimous approval from the Senate in May and is currently awaiting action in the General Assembly. If enacted, the bill would mandate public school districts to provide instruction on grief for students in grades eight through twelve.
