On Thursday, the Board of Commissioners joined staff and students at Camden County Technical School in Pennsauken to mark the expansion of the school's culinary arts program.

The $7.6 million project, funded by the Securing Our Children’s Future Bond Act, will create a dedicated space for baking and pastry arts. The addition spans over 20,000 square feet across the first and second floors of the main building. It includes a culinary career lab on each floor, an instructional support and service simulation kitchen, two theory/instructional classrooms, cold storage facilities, and student changing rooms.

“This expansion will benefit our students greatly as they will have better access to programming that will prepare them for careers after graduation,” said Commissioner Jonathan Young, liaison to CCTS. “This new baking and pastry arts area will give students the hands-on experience they need to find success. We are thrilled that this expansion is complete, and we look forward to seeing just how impactful this new baking and pastry arts area is.”
