Crews will conduct road work on Market Street in Camden on Monday, February 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., causing a lane shift between Haddon Avenue and North 8th Street.
PSE&G is scheduled to work on Church Road in Merchantville on the same day and time, resulting in a partial road closure eastbound between Victor Avenue and Haddonfield Road.
Further work by PSE&G will occur on Mt. Ephraim Avenue in Camden on Thursday, February 6, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a partial road closure southbound between Lowell and Sheridan streets.
Additionally, PSE&G will close roads fully at Mt. Ephraim and Ferry avenues in Camden from Monday, February 3, to Friday, February 7, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., affecting the area between Salem and South 11th streets.
New Jersey American Water plans full road closures on Haddon Avenue in Haddonfield and Haddon Township during the same week from Monday through Friday between Kings Highway East and West Crystal Lake Avenue.
Commissioner Al Dyer advised motorists: “Motorists should plan ahead to take alternate routes and give themselves plenty of time to get to their destinations.” He added that drivers should be cautious when passing through construction zones: “Also, remember that when you’re traveling through a construction area, please slow down and stay alert for crew members and debris.”
The Camden County Department of Public Works maintains over 1,200 miles of county roadway along with bridges and dams. They aim to enhance safety for both motorists and pedestrians through various projects including pothole repairs and storm drainage upkeep. The department operates out of Lindenwold with personnel available around the clock.
