The Senate Transportation Committee has approved a bill sponsored by Senator Kristin Corrado, representing the 40th District. The legislation mandates the Motor Vehicle Commission to issue special license plates for women veterans. These plates will feature a silhouette of a woman saluting against an American flag background, with "Woman Veteran" inscribed on them.

Senator Corrado emphasized the significance of this initiative: “This license plate was designed by one of our constituents and is a step towards ensuring women Veterans are not only seen but celebrated for their selfless contributions to our military,” she stated. “With this plate, we make it clear that their service is an integral part of our nation’s history.”

To obtain these plates, applicants must provide either a DD-214 or Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty as proof of eligibility.

The full text of the bill, designated S-3907, is available online for public viewing.
