The Senate State Government, Wagering, Tourism and Historic Preservation Committee has approved a bipartisan bill sponsored by Senator Michael Testa. The legislation aims to allocate a $7.65 million grant to the Cumberland County Technical Education Center (CCTEC). This funding is intended to enhance career and technical education opportunities for students at the institution.
Senator Testa expressed his support for the initiative, stating, "Cumberland County Technical Education Center is an incredible resource for students to gain hands-on experience, earn industry certifications, and even get a head start on college curriculum." He further added that the grant would ensure CCTEC has the necessary funds to expand its programs, thereby offering students more opportunities to learn and develop essential skills.
The proposed bill, known as S-3825, seeks to appropriate funds from the "Securing our Children’s Future Fund" for this purpose.
