The Senate Republican Caucus of New Jersey has issued a statement urging federal intervention regarding unexplained drone sightings across the state. The caucus emphasized the importance of resident safety and expressed dissatisfaction with the current handling of the situation.

"First and foremost, our top priority is the safety and security of New Jersey residents," stated the caucus. They criticized the lack of clarity from recent briefings, which have not provided additional information on these incidents since they began. Despite commendable efforts by New Jersey State Police and local law enforcement, their ability to address the issue is limited due to federal jurisdiction over drone engagement.

The statement highlighted concerns about the Biden Administration's response, describing it as slow and inadequate. This has led to increased public anxiety and speculation about potential threats.

"It is irresponsible for federal representatives to assert that there is no threat to public safety while simultaneously asserting they have no information about who is operating the drones, where they originate, or where they are going," continued the statement. The caucus believes this inconsistency undermines public trust and increases uncertainty among constituents.

In response to these issues, the caucus called on Governor Murphy to demand comprehensive support from the Federal Government. They urged him to press for immediate action from the Biden Administration, including authorization to neutralize any drones that might threaten state residents.

"We share the frustrations of our constituents and feel the same urgency to act," concluded the statement. "New Jerseyans deserve swift and effective action to ensure their safety and the security of our nation."
