Senator Michael Testa, representing New Jersey's 1st District, received the Paul L. Troast Award from the New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA). The award was given in recognition of his consistent support for small businesses and efforts to boost New Jersey's economy. The presentation took place during NJBIA's Annual Public Policy Forum on December 4, 2024.

“I am deeply honored to receive this recognition from the New Jersey Business & Industry Association,” said Senator Testa. “Small businesses are the backbone of our local economy and I will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the success of all businesses in the State. As the proud Co-Chair of the Legislative Manufacturing Caucus, it’s time that the slogan ‘Trenton Makes, the World Takes’ has meaning again in New Jersey.”

Senator Testa has been active in supporting small businesses within the Legislature and is dedicated to enhancing New Jersey's business environment and promoting job creation throughout the state.

As Co-Chair of the bipartisan Legislative Manufacturing Caucus, Testa collaborates with industry organizations and chambers of commerce across New Jersey. His advocacy focuses on legislation that equips local entrepreneurs with essential resources for success.

Testa sponsored S-4265, a significant legislative change enacted earlier this year. This law relaxed restrictions that had long hindered breweries and distilleries, marking a major update to liquor license regulations since Prohibition.
