Legislators from the 24th District have expressed their firm opposition to a proposed bill that would permit the distribution of sexually explicit books and materials in school libraries. The delegation has made clear their stance through a statement following their decisive "no" vote.

“Librarians are integral to children’s educational experience, but there is absolutely no place for sexually-explicit materials in our schools,” the delegation stated. “This bill recklessly weakens protections that prevent obscene content from reaching minors. Safeguarding our children is non-negotiable, and there is no valid reason for this dangerous exception. For these reasons, we emphatically rejected this bill.”

For further inquiries or to speak with members of the 24th legislative district, Chris Sivel, SRO Deputy Director of Communications, can be contacted at [email protected].
