This week, Kings Highway in Haddon Heights will undergo a one-way detour between Black Horse Pike and East Lake Drive. The lane closure is scheduled from 7 a.m. on Wednesday, October 30 to 3 p.m. on Thursday, October 31. During this period, northbound traffic will be rerouted at Black Horse Pike while southbound traffic remains open. This temporary change is part of the ongoing Kings Highway improvement project initiated last month.

Commissioner Al Dyer, who serves as the liaison to the Department of Public Works, acknowledged the potential inconvenience but emphasized its necessity for the project's progress. “While this closure may be inconvenient to travelers in the area, it will be brief and is an important step in this transformative improvement project,” Dyer stated. He advised motorists to seek alternate routes and exercise caution when traveling through construction zones.

Residents with questions or concerns about the project can contact Paul Nolan, Project Manager at Colliers Engineering & Design, at (732) 704-5931. For issues related to Camden County roadways, individuals are encouraged to call (856) 566-2980 or visit www.camdencounty.com.

The Camden County Department of Public Works manages over 1,200 miles of county roads along with numerous bridges and dams. Their mission includes enhancing safety for both motorists and pedestrians through various highway construction projects and regular maintenance activities such as pothole repairs and storm drainage upkeep. The department operates out of Lindenwold with personnel available around the clock to assist residents.
