Beginning on Monday, Aug. 5, Camden County will initiate two major roadway improvement projects in Berlin Borough and Winslow Township.

In Berlin Borough, crews will commence a $1.6 million project on Jackson Road between the White Horse Pike and Route 73. The project includes road striping, milling, paving, improving stormwater infrastructure, and installing handicap ramps and adjacent sidewalks. Work is expected to continue until January, weather permitting. A full road closure will be in place during work hours from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In Winslow Township, a $650,000 milling and paving project will start on Monday along East Fleming Pike between the White Horse Pike and South Egg Harbor Road. There will be a partial road closure westbound from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., from Monday, Aug. 5 to Friday, Aug. 9.

“These two projects are just another investment that we are making into improving our county’s vital infrastructure,” said Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Department of Public Works. “Keeping our roadways in the best shape possible is a top priority for the Board of Commissioners and is crucial to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our residents and visitors who travel these routes every single day.”

The Camden County Department of Public Works maintains over 1,200 miles of county roadway, 50 bridges, and several dams. They are dedicated to enhancing safety for motorists and pedestrians through highway construction projects and road maintenance activities such as pothole repairs, street sweeping, grass cutting, and storm drainage upkeep. The Public Works Department is located in Lindenwold with personnel available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to serve Camden County residents.
