This week, the Camden County Department of Health and Human Services, in collaboration with healthcare partners, will offer free vaccinations for uninsured children and those with only Medicaid Part A in Camden and Magnolia. This initiative aims to prepare children and families in Camden County for the upcoming school year.
“We want to ensure that every child is back in school this fall, and being up to date on your vaccines is critical for attendance,” said Commissioner Virginia Betteridge, liaison to the Department of Health and Human Services. “Camden County is dedicated to providing these life-saving vaccinations in order to create the safe, healthy environment that our residents and especially our children deserve.”
At the vaccination drives, children can receive various required vaccinations and speak with representatives from the Osbourne Family Health Center for assistance with insurance applications. For children behind on vaccines, the Health Department will make appointments for families at one of their health first care and wellness centers.
The required vaccinations available at these clinics include:
- Ages 4 to 6: DTap, polio, and MMR vaccines
- Ages 11 and 12: Tdap and meningococcal vaccines
- Age 16: Meningococcal vaccines
Vaccination sites for the week of July 26 are as follows:
- Saturday, July 27 at Wiggins Center - Health First Care and Wellness Center, 400 Mt. Vernon Street, Camden from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
