On Tuesday, the Board of Commissioners joined Mayor Victor Carstarphen, the Camden Community Partnership, East Camden residents, and others to unveil a new mural on the Bush Refrigeration Building on Admiral Wilson Boulevard. The mural is a collage of historical figures, organizations, and locations that are meaningful to the East Camden neighborhood and aims to amplify the rich history of the community.

“This mural celebrates the greatness that has come out of this community, and the talent and beauty it exudes,” Commissioner Al Dyer said. “The subject of this piece reminds Camden residents that our city produces greatness and is a community worth fighting for.”

The mural design was created by local Camden artists Breiner Garcia, Priscilla Rios, and Don T. Williams, who are also members of the We Live Here Artists Collective. This initiative aims to replace graffiti and vandalism covering the wall of the Bush Refrigeration building.

The mural was made possible through funding from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs’ Neighborhood Revitalization Tax Credit Program.
