On May 21, 2024, Commissioner Nash issued a statement expressing his support for the preservation of the Garden State Gatehouse on Route 70. This comes in response to a campaign launched by Cherry Hill residents and Mayor David Fleisher to prevent the Gatehouse from being sold to developers for commercial use.

The Garden State Gatehouse is the last remaining structure of the former racetrack that opened in 1942. The racetrack was a significant entertainment and community hub during the 1950s and 1960s.

Commissioner Nash emphasized his role as liaison to the Open Space Preservation Trust Fund Advisory Board, stating, "It is my duty to ensure that we are preserving all of Camden County’s historic locations from Camden City to Winslow Township." He described the Gatehouse as "a relic of Cherry Hill’s past" and argued that selling it for commercial development would be detrimental.

"I support Mayor Fleisher and all the Cherry Hill residents fighting for the preservation of the Gatehouse," Nash continued. He underscored that preserving this site would allow future generations to learn about Cherry Hill's history at Garden State Park.
