The Board of Commissioners met in Cherry Hill for the next event in a series of town hall meetings across Camden County. Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli Jr. emphasized the significance of these gatherings, stating, “Hosting town halls are very important as it allows us to communicate with our residents about what’s happening in our county, state and country.”
During the town hall meeting, Navy Veteran Art Schneider was honored for his service. Schneider, who served from 1990 to 1999 as a nuclear machinist mate, was involved in Operation Desert Storm and received several accolades for his dedication, including the Navy Achievement Award, the Southwest Asia Service Medal, and the Navy Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, among others.
Schneider, a resident of Cherry Hill, is actively involved in various veteran organizations, including the Cherry Hill American Legion Post 372, VFW Post 8051, AMVETS Post 101, and Disabled American Veterans E. J. Newton Memorial Chapter 4.
In addition to recognizing Schneider's service, the town hall meeting also featured a services fair organized by the Board of Commissioners. Representatives from various county departments, including Constituent Services, Veterans Affairs, Senior Services, Health and Human Services, and the One-Stop Employment and Training Center, were present to engage with residents one-on-one.
