The Board of Commissioners celebrated the opening of a new playground at the Ronald McDonald House of Southern NJ in Camden City. The playground is fully inclusive and offers ADA accessible equipment for children with disabilities to have a safe place to play.
Commissioner Deputy Director Ed McDonnell expressed his enthusiasm for the new playground, stating, “The Ronald McDonald House is such a vital resource to so many families who have children in the hospital. This playground will provide families staying at the Camden City location with a bit of normalcy and fun during a tough time. We are thrilled to be unveiling this fully accessible space for the children to enjoy and cannot wait for the kids to start using it.”
The Ronald McDonald House of Southern New Jersey provides housing for families so they can stay close to their hospitalized child at little to no cost. Additionally, the organization operates 11 Ronald McDonald Family Rooms in area hospitals throughout South Jersey where families can comfortably stay with their children while they are receiving medical treatment.
The new playground at the Ronald McDonald House of Southern NJ will undoubtedly be a source of joy and respite for the children and families utilizing the facilities.
