District 30 legislators, including Senator Robert Singer and Assemblymen Sean Kean and Edward Thomson, have expressed deep frustration over Nemours Children's Health's decision to no longer accept most new patients enrolled in New Jersey's Medicaid managed care insurance program. Senator Singer emphasized the impact on families, stating, "Parents of children with special medical needs rely on the services provided at Nemours Children's Hospitals to treat complex conditions."

The legislators had allocated significant funding to Nemours Children's Health, including a $10 million state grant, in an effort to keep the pediatric hospital in-network. However, despite these efforts, Nemours has decided to withdraw from accepting most new kids on Medicaid from New Jersey, affecting around 11,000 children from South Jersey.

Assemblyman Kean highlighted the Legislature's intentions behind the funding, stating, "The lack of commitment from Nemours to continue providing care to children with special medical needs is upsetting." Additionally, Assemblyman Thomson emphasized the importance of Nemours' services, stating, "Thousands of families depend on Nemours to provide life-sustaining treatments for their children."

The legislators, along with Assemblyman Herb Conway Jr., expressed disappointment over Nemours' decision, emphasizing the impact it will have on families in need of specialized medical care. As the situation unfolds, parents and lawmakers alike are left grappling with the uncertainty surrounding the future of children's healthcare in the region.
