Census Bureau: More women than men in New Jersey in 2021

Of the 9,234,024 people living in New Jersey in 2021, 50.8% (4,694,713) were women and 49.2% (4,539,311) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by Garden State Times.

Data showed the average age for women in New Jersey in 2021 was 41 years, higher than the national average of 40 for women. Meanwhile, New Jersey's male population stands at an average age of 39 years, placing them higher than the US average of 38.

According to census data, women aged 18 and over outnumbered men in the same age group by 13,870, totaling 2,856,468 individuals. Meanwhile, in the 65 and over group, there were 653,101 men and 841,415 women.
