Burlington County and the Food Bank of South Jersey got a big assist from Senator Troy Singleton and several dozen volunteers who helped out at the County’s monthly food distribution on Saturday.

Close to 500 families received pantry items, diary, produce and turkeys in advance of the Thanksgiving holiday during the event, which was one the Senator’s regular “Serve with Singleton” community service projects.

Among the volunteers who assisted during the event were Senator Singleton, Burlington County Commissioner Dan O’Connell, Evesham Township Councilwoman Heather Cooper -Deputy Mayor, Westampton Committeeman Odise Car and Lumberton Committeeman Terrance Benson.

Since 2020, the County and Food Bank of South Jersey have partnered to hold the drive thru food giveaways to assist food insecure residents. More than 16,000 people have benefited from the program since its launch and the County continues to hold the events monthly.

Thank you to all who braved the cold and wind to help out Saturday.
