The Liberation From Incineration Workshop series is hosted and organized by EJ Communities Against Incineration, a coalition of Environmental Justice groups and organizations that support communities with the tools and knowledge necessary to engage in advocacy to protect their communities against the ongoing impacts of the incineration industry.
The workshop is an intentional educational space for community members/residents in the EJ communities of Camden, Newark, and Rahway. It aims to provide information about what incineration (or waste-to-energy) is, and the impacts of incineration on the health and well-being of EJ communities in NJ.
We will explore some strategies and alternatives available to move away from the toxic practice of burning waste as a solution to the waste crisis.
We invite community members from #Newark interested in learning more or sharing their experiences to register for this event.
Register via QR code or link in bio.
As part of the workshop, we will be hosting a screening of the documentary The Sacrifice Zone! @talkingeyesmedia
Refreshments will be served.
Masks are strongly encouraged.
We are excited to see you there!
