The Upper Saddle River Police Department announced on June 2 an upcoming traffic advisory related to the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics New Jersey. The event is scheduled to pass through the borough on Friday, June 5, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

According to the announcement, residents and commuters should expect delays and intermittent closures along Lake Street and West Saddle River Road during these hours. The police department advised motorists to choose alternate routes and avoid the area if possible.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run is an annual event supporting Special Olympics athletes throughout New Jersey by raising awareness and funds as law enforcement officers carry the torch across multiple communities.

Local officials said that advance notice is being provided to minimize inconvenience for residents and ensure safety during the run.

“Please choose alternate routes and avoid the area,” said representatives of the Upper Saddle River Police Department in their statement.
