In a recent video release, Senator Michael Testa criticized Trenton Democrats for the rising energy bills affecting New Jersey residents. According to Testa, these increases are due to misguided energy mandates supported by Democrats and approved by the Board of Public Utilities (BPU).

In his video statement, Testa remarked, “Even top Democrats are flipping the script and saying they’re appalled with the consequences of these failing policies. Instead of actually taking responsibility, Trenton Democrats who pushed these disastrous plans in the first place are trying to pin the blame on PJM, while the BPU claims they have absolutely no control. That’s unacceptable. These consequences are the direct results of misguided energy mandates pushed by Democrats and rubber-stamped by the BPU.”

Senator Testa has consistently advocated for ratepayer justice and recently introduced legislation known as S-4285. This proposal aims to dismantle the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU), which he accuses of neglecting its duty to safeguard New Jersey’s energy consumers.
