On Tuesday, the Board of Commissioners and the Garden State Wine Growers Association held the New Jersey Wine Month Celebration at the Camden County Boathouse. The celebration, previously known as New Jersey Wine Week, now spans a month from November 1 to November 30. It aims to highlight wine growers, vineyards, and wineries throughout New Jersey.

The event featured wine tasting and announcements while honoring local wineries such as Amalthea Cellars Farm Winery, Saddlehill Winery, Sharrott Winery, Tomasello Winery, White Horse Winery, and William Heritage Winery.

“The New Jersey wine industry is booming and 2024 was an incredibly successful year,” stated Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli Jr. “Tuesday’s event will celebrate all the wonderful progress recently made and will get us ready to accomplish even more in the new year when it comes to wine."

Camden County and South Jersey are gaining recognition in the international wine industry. This fall saw a fourth crop of chambourcin grapes from the Commissioners Lakeland Vineyard delivered to Saddlehill Winery. The vineyard covers just over an acre of land and this year's harvest produced nearly 7,000 pounds of grapes.
