Senate Republican Leader Anthony M. Bucco and Senate Republican Whip Michael Testa have voiced their concerns following testimony from the Assembly Telecommunications and Utilities Committee. The senators criticized what they see as the negative impact of Governor Murphy's energy policies on New Jersey residents.
"Republicans have consistently called for a commonsense energy approach fueled by a diverse portfolio," stated Sen. Bucco. He emphasized that these calls have been overlooked, resulting in increased costs for residents due to what he describes as "Governor Murphy’s politicization of our energy systems." Bucco warned that without a change in policy, families and businesses will face significantly higher bills.
Sen. Testa echoed these sentiments, accusing Democrats of attempting to obscure past policy failures with "superficial hearings and empty statements." He described Governor Murphy's plan as an "energy disaster," criticizing it for neglecting South Jersey's families and small businesses.
