Senator Carmen Amato, Assemblyman Brian Rumpf, and Assemblyman Greg Myhre have addressed a letter to New Jersey Treasurer Maher Muoio, expressing their concern over the slow processing of the ANCHOR benefit. In the letter, the legislators urge the Department of the Treasury to expedite the issuance of the benefit to eligible recipients who are yet to receive it.

The legislators stated in their letter, "This correspondence is in response to complaints our Legislative District Office continues to receive from constituents who have yet to receive their ANCHOR benefit, many of whom had the expectation of receiving the benefit months ago based on comments made by the Murphy Administration."

They further highlighted the growing discontentment among constituents waiting for the ANCHOR benefit, especially in light of other financial challenges such as toll hikes, utility rate increases, and property tax rises. The letter also questioned the delay in implementing the STAY NJ program while mentioning concerns about providing benefits to individuals residing in the state illegally.

In closing, the letter thanked Treasurer Maher Muoio for attention to the matter, emphasizing the urgency of the situation on behalf of the people of the 9th Legislative District.

This call to action from Senator Amato, Assemblyman Rumpf, and Assemblyman Myhre sheds light on the frustration faced by constituents awaiting the ANCHOR benefit and underscores the need for prompt resolution from the Department of the Treasury.
