Senator Kristin Corrado and Assemblyman Christopher DePhillips of the 40th Legislative District have expressed their support for a GOP resolution condemning the violent terrorist attacks by Hamas in Israel and standing in solidarity with the Jewish People. Senator Corrado will be a co-sponsor of the senate resolution, while Assemblyman DePhillips plans to introduce the assembly version.
Speaking on the matter, Senator Corrado stated, "The violent attacks from Hamas on the Jewish People of Israel are barbaric and unjust. My heart goes out to the innocent victims and their families. As we continue to learn more details from the past few days, the impact of these horrendous attacks continues to be felt throughout New Jersey especially for our Jewish friends and neighbors." She emphasized, "New Jersey must stand with the people of Israel and condemn the atrocities unfolding at the hands of Hamas terrorists. The Legislature should return to Trenton to show our united and steadfast commitment to Israel and its citizens."
Assemblyman DePhillips echoed the sentiment, saying, “New Jersey must show a united front in standing with the Jewish People in the wake of these horrific attacks. Innocent women and children have lost their lives at the hands of Hamas terrorists. Americans abroad had their lives cut short because of these vicious attacks. The assembly must formally adopt a resolution expressing our unwavering support for Israel and stand in solidarity with our Jewish communities.”
Senate Republicans have also announced their intentions to introduce a resolution supporting Israel.
