OPINION: Hirsh Singh: New Jersey Needs A New Leader

Throughout the course of my campaign, I have traveled all across New Jersey talking to voters of every race, religion, and creed. I’ve heard their struggles and listened to countless stories of government overreach and bureaucratic incompetence stripping Americans of their God-given freedoms. Everywhere you look in our state, failed governance is threatening the American Dream that my grandfather worked so hard to achieve when he emigrated to the United States.

Anti-science COVID lockdowns and mask mandates levied by Hypocrite-In-Chief Phil Murphy have destroyed businesses, kept schools closed, and violated individual liberty. Sky-high property taxes and government red tape are inhibiting the ability of New Jerseyans to thrive. And Democrats in Trenton have empowered liberal activists to infiltrate school classrooms and corporate board rooms, peddling anti-American propaganda to our children and forcing people to apologize for the way they were born.

For far too long, establishment Republicans like my opponent, Jack Ciattarelli, have sat idly by while far-left liberals imposed this radical agenda on our state, eroding our freedoms and destroying the principles upon which this country was founded. During Jack’s three decades in government, he stood back and watched as New Jerseyans’ Second Amendment freedoms were stripped from them, their taxes rose ever higher, and the Democrat political machine consolidated power in Trenton, threatening our democratic process.

What’s even worse, when President Trump came along and offered a new vision for the future of the Republican Party, one that was strong instead of weak, and that fought for our shared values instead of giving in to the radical left, Jack rejected him. Jack called Trump a “charlatan,” and said he was “unfit for office.” He refused to support President Trump even after he became the Republican nominee for President. Then, in 2020, Jack refused to stand with President Trump in the face of a dramatic breakdown in the security of our elections.

As if that wasn’t enough, Jack has even supported liberal policies. He voted against sending relief to battered shore communities in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. He is openly pro-abortion and implicitly supported the “Defund the Police” movement by voting to gut first responder pensions in New Jersey.

I made the decision to run because I know that New Jersey conservatives can’t afford to allow a Never Trump Republican like Jack to carry the torch for our great movement any longer. Since the beginning of my campaign, establishment Republicans in Trenton have worked with the liberal media to shut me up and shut me out. Just like President Trump, they know that I am a threat to their power and are using every tool at their disposal to make sure that I can’t shake up the status quo. But New Jersey voters are smart, and they have seen through the lies and deception and know that I am the only Republican candidate who will listen to them and not the political establishment.

On June 8th, New Jersey conservatives have a clear choice. When it mattered most, Jack abandoned Republican voters and caved to the radical left. It’s time for a new leader who won’t back down and who has what it takes to win. That is why I am humbly asking for your vote on June 8th. I will restore Second Amendment freedoms, protect life, lower taxes, secure our elections, de-radicalize our schools, rebuild industry, and return our state to its rightful place as a national leader for freedom and individual liberty.
