Senator Carmen Amato, Jr., Assemblyman Brian Rumpf, and Assemblyman Gregory Myhre have announced that the New Jersey Division of Taxation has started issuing 2025 Senior Freeze property tax reimbursement checks. This year, over 125,000 seniors across New Jersey are expected to benefit from expanded eligibility and a simplified application process. Seniors and disabled residents can now apply for all major state property tax relief programs using a single form known as PAS-1. This form includes applications for the Senior Freeze, ANCHOR, and the new Stay NJ property tax benefit.

The 9th District Delegation released a statement saying: “Helping our seniors afford to stay in their homes remains one of our top priorities. As property taxes continue to be a major concern for our residents, especially those on fixed incomes, we’ve stood strong in our support for fully funding critical relief programs like the Senior Freeze and ANCHOR initiatives.”

Amato, Rumpf, and Myhre emphasized their commitment to assisting residents with the PAS-1 process: “Our office is committed to helping residents navigate the PAS-1 process, which is why our Delegation has been so active in visiting senior communities throughout the district this year,” they said. “We believe that meeting seniors where they are makes the biggest difference in ensuring they don’t miss out on the relief they’ve earned.”

The deadline for submitting the PAS-1 application is October 31, 2025. Applications can be submitted online at https://www.njportal.com/taxation/ptr. More details about the program are available at https://nj.gov/treasury/taxation/relief.shtml. Residents of the 9th Legislative District who have questions or need assistance can contact their district office at 609-693-6700.
