Senator Michael Testa, a member of the New Jersey Senate Budget Committee, has expressed concerns regarding the contract between the New Jersey Turnpike Authority (NJTA) and TransCore. The senator highlighted that TransCore has connections to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

“New Jerseyans deserve transparency and accountability, especially concerning sensitive and personal information,” stated Sen. Testa. He emphasized that it is “unacceptable for the NJTA to withhold important details.” He further insisted on the public’s right to be informed about who manages their infrastructure, stressing that residents’ safety should not be compromised for corporate secrecy.

Sen. Testa is planning to introduce legislation aimed at prohibiting State contractors from selling, transferring, disclosing, or providing data to a foreign adversary.
